Why choose Slough?

Testimonials Proud to be Slough
A sustainable community Q&A’s
Proud to be Slough

Our aim

Proud to be Slough’s aim is to improve the perception of Slough both within and outside the town and create a sense of Slough being a sustainable community where people want to live, work, shop, learn, play and invest now and in the future.

Proud to be Slough is a town-wide campaign supported by local businesses, voluntary organisations and the public sector.  We want local people to be proud of their town and we want to overcome the tired old cliches associated with Slough.

This is not about pretending Slough is something it is not.  Slough is not competing with Cotswold villages to attract stockbroker commuters. Proud to be Slough aims to create a sense of pride in the good things about Slough and an optimism for the future.

Our role

The ‘Proud to be Slough’ campaign has two key roles:

  1. A kite mark of excellence for what is already good about the town
  2. A statement of intent  for what will be excellent in the future

Our objectives

  1. Residents
To measurably improve residents’ perceptions of the town as a place to live

  2. Employees / commuters
To measurably improve employees’ perceptions of the town as a place to work
